Emma Burstein MA, LPC

Hi! My name is Emma Burstein (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. I earned my master’s degree in clinical counseling from Xavier University and provide therapy to individuals and couples seeking meaningful growth and healing.

I have always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and what shapes us into who we are. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and personal growth. I also work with couples who are looking to improve communication, rebuild trust, or feel more connected in their relationship. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or wanting to better understand yourself or your relationship, therapy can be a space to slow down and reconnect.

My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in empathy. I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is feeling genuinely heard. I focus on thoughtful listening and asking meaningful questions that help you explore not just what has happened, but how it has shaped you. With couples, I support both partners in feeling understood while working toward more effective communication and connection. Together, we reflect, identify patterns and strengths, and move toward greater clarity and growth.

I integrate mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques within a person-centered framework to support both insight and practical change. I also value warmth and appropriate humor in the therapy room, because growth does not always have to feel heavy.

Starting therapy takes courage. I aim to create a supportive space where you can show up as you are and feel truly understood. It would be a privilege to be part of your journey.

I offer in-person and online sessions for individuals and couples in Ohio. Please reach out through the contact page to learn more!
